Not Again, Never Again Poem by Adebayo Caleb

Not Again, Never Again

Not again do I want to see this
Never again will I do this
Not again do I want to wear this
Never again will this be my culture
Not again do I want to eat this
Never again will this be my appetite
Not again do I want to say this
Never again will I pry into it
Not again do I want to work there
Never again will I waste my effort
Not again do I want to hear this
Never again will I give in to it
Not again do I want to love
Never again will I be betrayed
Not again do I want to trust
Never again will I be disappointed
Not again do I want to read this
Never again will I be cajouled
Not again, never again.

Now I have made up my mind
Never again will I back down
I have given my heart to this
Never again will I go back to this
A freedom to choose
A duty to truth
Never again am I in debt.
