Not A Penny Poem by David Darbyshire

Not A Penny

Rating: 5.0

Slap happy and glad
never a moment to be sad
always laughing,
constantly smiling

happiness comes
in many shapes
sometimes after a lot of grapes
or watching funny apes

from a dog wagging his tail,
a love note in the mail
like when the cat's been fed
and she lying happily on my bed

it is those little things
that make us happy
and it is free, not a penny
to pay, this is the Key

The small things, indeed. And the free things. Well put. Including the gratuitously silly lines!
