Not A Fluke Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Not A Fluke

It is so pleasant to know my love
Who is going to be mine forever in a day or two
We will be going to take a vow
When she will come to me dressed in her favorite blue

From here no one can see us living
Separate and always longing to meet in a lonely place
In each other's arms we will be found
Missing no more to each other's love will be a great solace

It is so pleasant to know that
Her youth would no more remain tied to her dream
She will get the love she need so much
When I will play with her hair as we lay by the stream

From here no one can see us
Waiting for each other at the wells or on the stairs
Or loitering with heavy hearts
Under starry nights or in the heat of the suns glares

It is so pleasant to know that she
Would no more live in the burden of household chores
Her heart will be free to roam the land
And her agile feet would take her to unknown shores

From here no one can find us
To sing a song of lost love sitting by a deserted brook
She will live in me and me in her
It is the magic of love not just due to any imminent fluke
