Not A Fairytale Poem by Apolynn Lagaras

Not A Fairytale

Rating: 4.5

Once upon a time,
A start I thought was mine.
For every fairy tales you have in mind
In my story, it's hard to find.

I'm no princess you have to rescue
Nor a witch you have to argue.
I'm no royalty living in a kingdom,
Just a girl waiting for a prince to come

A tale full of mystery, magic and spell
With dragons and evil witches you have to dwell
In reality this things won't exist
Problems from tragedy will be on your list

Nothing was never easy to dismiss
It won't disappear with one's true love's kiss.
Never from a falling star you saw and wished
‘Cause fairies in reality will be missed.

A lie we tell like fairy tales we share
To escape reality we couldn't dare
A moment of fantasy to escape the torture
With a glimpse from the past to know the future

Believe in yourself to win every battle
There is always an end in every struggle
Life is a book with a twist each chapter
But somehow we managed to end with happily ever after.
