I stood before the crushing ocean
Between the foaming ocean ridges
And in a heartbeat's worth of drive
I swam right through.

There's a tale of reckless souls
Who live only by the night…
They find comfort in the dark,
Hope, in stars' pale, glowing light.

these words lose their meaning
between the pages' binding
as the days keep unwinding
towards springtime cleaning
...

At times that come without fore-warning
And go less often than i please
I deem a shaddow's touch adorning
And bear its presence with more ease.

When the nights turn long
All the stars call my name
All I hear is their song
As my heart is their aim
...

If the skies turn fair
And my mind's no longer pent
Would I still pick up your scent
In the summer air?

In the before
That treated me so sweet and sore
I dreamt of love. It haunts me still
And made me act beyond my will
...

It's just me and my cigarette now
Puffing away the evening
While the hot gravel moans, grieving
Under the weight of the Saturday crowd
