Non-Refundable Poem by Star Dust

When I conclude that the rain has fallen,
When anger screams, 'I'm done! '
And my frown turns to a smile,
And fighting to laughter,
I think I'll try and find,
A message from the past,
They didn't put us in here to dwell on what we did,
But to try and find a solution,
Why when history repeats itself,
The fortunetellers get all the praise,
When really they just read a book,
Of past and phase,
Why when someone calls,
Do we listen for caller ID,
And say, 'Hey it's them not he'
Why should I pick it up,
Well, maybe, it could be,
The person trying to apologize,
For why you are trying to flee,
When in such a hurry,
Your mind is crammed full,
When you forget your mother's birthday,
Well, that's kind of sad,
Just live in the moment,
Stop throwing life away,
Just stop for a moment to see the sunset fade to gray,
Stop in a memory,
Laugh about an inside joke,
Skip one day of work,
To go and talk with your sick grandma,
Just lie outside and close your eyes,
Let the wind tangle your hair,
Have a pie fight with your best friends,
Sleep in past eleven,
Stay up 'till six in the morning,
And go see a stupid movie the next day,
Go to a fair and waste your money,
On rigged games and fun.
Go up to random people,
Say hello and act like you know them,
Trip off a diving board,
And shout, “I’m going to sue! ”
Hike up a mountain,
And don't look down until you're at the top,
Eat French fries,
When you know they're not good for you,
Jump into a pile of leaves,
Make two medals,
One for your friend and one for you,
For being, 'The World's Biggest Nerds.'
Don't wear makeup and see if people recognize you,
Smile at your enemies,
And forgive and forget all the wrong they've done,
And remember that you only have one life,
No exchanges or refunds.
