Nocturne Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Nocturne

Nocturne
- - - - - -
I was not alone
Me and my friend
Fuelled by sensation
On a winter evening
Strayed into a lone path
That led to a sloping country lane
For sacred view of sunset
Fields around felt a little chilled
And a soft breeze
Blowing upon the field
Beneath the lemon-coloured skies
And austere against the waning light
A large flock of young lasses
Gathering harvests
Like trilling birds
Looking for seeds to fill their nests
In the sweet moonlight
Singing soulful pristine tunes
As if them I have had
For many many years unto now
Melody of thousand years old
And all sounded peaceful
And the day calmly
Dwindling into night indelible…….

In the sweet moonlight let us sing together, this life is a sweet moonlight, my dear, let us not waste our time, who know what is going to happen next moment. fine, thought provoking.
