Nobel Prize Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Nobel Prize

The great Poet
Joseph Rudyard Kipling
was born in Bombay
eighteen sixty-five
and died in England
nineteen thirty-six.

He left India at the age
of six years, and during
his schooldays, wonderful
lyrics were published.
Spending four years in
America, he wrote two
Jungle Books, Captains
Courageous, and more
popular works.

Rudyard Kipling never
became a Laureate
but Britons regarded him
as such...he refused
various honours during
his lifetime, but in 1907
he accepted the Nobel
Prize for Literature...
first Englishman to be
awarded such a high
honour.

Rudyard Kipling ~ Joseph
from history...today we
venerate thee.
