No Sleep - 9/12/11 Poem by Tery Young

No Sleep - 9/12/11

Rating: 5.0

Please close your baby blues
and rest your weary head.
Moon struck clouds pass by your window
as your clock beams a brightly red.

Hours pass as you lay awake
yearning for your eyes to sleep.
Whispers of wind through the tree outside,
theres no counting of any sheep.

Clumsy as you toss and tuen,
twisting and scattering your sheets about.
Theres a humming of the fan across the room,
hoping the electric doesnt go out.

So you sit and stare at darkeness,
thinking of the days gone by.
I just want to go to sleep,
in said darkness I do cry.

No more dark hours pass,
as the sun has started to rise.
There are always many more days,
when I can try and rest my eyes.
