No Signs Of Spring Except On The Calendar Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

No Signs Of Spring Except On The Calendar

This second day of spring
Chilly and wet from yesterday's rain
Snow if you live in the east
Not one daffodil has shown its face
Laced in orange and yellow,
No long stems dancing,
No forsythia prancing with its
Long wavy stems moving to and fro.
No birds flocking,
No irises pushing through.
What can we do?
Paint a memory you artist out there
Spring will blossom soon she simply
Has her hat on backward!
