No Rhyme, No Measure This Love I Proclaim Poem by Jessel Jane Tevar Toring

No Rhyme, No Measure This Love I Proclaim

A haiku chained for him my hand doth write -
this hand so frail unkissed by angel’ s tongue
could form no sonnet lovelier as quite
roses that on his cheeks lie, his cheeks wrung
quatrains to be put to test, I did taste
on fine romance a drama on its own;
the taste of love on brevity they waste.
In these, my poetry versed their way home.
In these, no anthology was e ’er known
that sleepeth in my fingers with his name -
for his name covets them in all their thrones,
no rhyme, no measure this love I proclaim.
...in haiku chained for him by angel’ s tongue
...my hand doth write sonnet, a lovely song.
