No Poem Pleases Now Poem by Shalom Freedman

No Poem Pleases Now

No poem pleases now
No lines are just right-
There are good lines
But they are mixed with others,
Awkward out of place-
And I do not know how to end the poems-

Perhaps I should be in Poetry
Better than I am in life-
Less doubtful
More sure of the Beauty and Goodness of things
Better able to give to others
Joy Happiness Hope Love
Gratitude to God –

Perhaps I should be better
Than one who is always ‘trying’.

I am it seems as a poet too
Also not the best example-
