No Place At Satan's Table Poem by Terence George Craddock

No Place At Satan's Table

C and Z Team took
the good white china
from the kitchen set
out clean bowls plates
with white tablecloth
at the long lounge table
proceeded to serve themselves
their two sons from the cook up

Mike and Emma had cooked with love
their drinks already poured waiting
in their delicately placed crystal glasses
but no place was laid out for poet Mike
had invited C condescended to allow
a place at far corner of long lounge table

but a man will not sit eat at a table
when no place is set for his wife
two daughters a man would choke
on his food the poet quietly thought
appreciatively drank the beer Mike
had given him enjoyed the food his
wife Hesti had happily earlier cooked
resolved not to eat again at CZ Team table

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

gee, i started to comment yesterday but got sidetracked and booted from computer (my wife's) by my wife. what nerve! ! ! now, without looking at poem, yet, again today, i think i recall that you had a unique way of running sentences/lines into one another without punctuation, making my job of following the poem more difficult! what nerve! ok, to read agaiin. ...............yeah, i was correct, and maybe a word or two seem to be in peculiar place(s) . but, once i got the hang of the style, i could follow the story well enough. sounds like a nerve-upsetting, if not stomach-upsetting event. a true story or imagination? ? C and Z still remains a bit of a mystery to me. anonymous friends? thanks for sharing. bri ;)
