No One To Love Poem by rashmi pradeep kumar

No One To Love

Rating: 4.5

She came into this world,
Without a companion,
What she didn’t know
Was, she would remain so, lifelong.

When she was born,
She was labelled ‘orphan’,
Neither did she know a Mother’s love,
Nor a father’s care.

She found kids like her ’round her
But in none did she find a friend,
A person to share and care for her
In pains ’n joys, ups ’n downs in life.

When she grew into a fine young lady
She wanted to bring someone into
Her meaningless, worthless life
And, so began her search for that ‘someone’.

She found the man of her dreams
Her happiness knew no bounds,
The two of them spent together
Many a happy days, filled with love.

One fatal day, a speeding truck
Tore apart the lovers’ souls,
So cruel was Fate, that ne’er
Again did they meet in their lifetime.

The heartbroken girl cried
And wept, and wept and cried,
She cried her heart out, tears flowed
Non stop, until exhausted.

“She’s mad”, they said
A word of pity or a look of contempt,
Is all that’s meted out to her
“How”, I ask, “can the world be so heartless? ”

In this world of hate and prejudice
She thrives, a hope in her,
“He’s alive” – a prayer in her heart
“May we meet again”.

Days grew into weeks
And weeks into months,
Seasons changed and
So did all the people around her.

Death came knocking
At her door and took her along,
A painless and happy departure
A disturbed soul, en route to Heaven.

Angels of Heaven opened the doors
Welcomed her and gave her a seat,
She glanced at the seat next to her
And...her voice choked, her tears flowed.

’Twas him! ’Twas really him! !
Their souls met again forever,
No one could separate them
Thus would they live on...
...In the Temple of Heaven ! !
