No Middle Ground Poem by Stanley Cooper

No Middle Ground

Love, hate
There’s so much middle in between
Early, late
Another case of far extreme

Large, small
Can’t seem to find the middle ground
Short, tall
A midsize height is somewhere ‘round

Sweet, sour
Dispositionally speaking
Pleasant, dour
Far from cheek to cheeking

Such extremes are not suprising
We find them all around us
The middle road or compromising
Are concepts that confound us
