No me dejes

No me dejes;
Jamás ni me dejes.
Has sido una fiebre
Lenta, ardiente.

Desde que nací,
Y ahora,
Que mi vida muere,
Te seguiré siempre
Hasta la muerte.

No puedes;
No lo entiendes.
Esto se presiente—
El mundo viene.

Estaré allí,
Cuando el día llegue.
Diré, “Ayer te vi—
Sabía quién eres”.

Cuando el mundo
Rompa fuente,
Y se bajen los muros
En todo ambiente,

Será el lugar
Para reclamar
Que fiel fui
Al verte llegar.

Tell me not (Sweet) I am unkind,
That from the nunnery
Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly.

True, a new mistress now I chase,
