No Love Poem by Sierra Staten

No Love

I would love to write a love poem;
A love poem I'd love to write.
Of course, I never knew a love,
So my words have taken flight.

I can only dream of the perfect man
Who would whisper in my ear,
'Oh, honey, how I love you.
Will you always be my dear? '

In winter, he would cuddle me
Tight closely to keep me warm.
And, in summer, at the beach house,
He'd invite me to his dorm.

In spring, we would walk the park
And sit beneath the trees.
In autumn, we'd stroll some more
To watch the ever-changing leaves.

I see it hard to find a gent
To whom I give my love.
And harder yet to find the man
To return it and be my dove.

So, once again, I say to you,
A love poem I'd love to write.
Yet, I never really found my love,
So my words are lost in night.
