No Honour In Their Kind At All Poem by Francis Duggan

No Honour In Their Kind At All

They do not break into wealthy people's homes as their properties are anti theft secure
Instead they do the easier thing they plunder from the poor
And plunge a battling family into deeper poverty
No honour in their kind at all or so 'twould seem to me.

To steal from people poorer than themselves shows how horrible they are
For to buy drugs or alcohol down at their Local Public bar
The poor stealing from the poorer their vices for to feed
A word for this dishonourable quite dishonourable indeed.

The padlocked gates to wealthy people's homes for them is a no go
Area so instead they steal from their own kind and in so doing they stoop low
For to buy drugs or alcohol they bring on themselves ill-fame
But they live with dishonour and are past feelings of guilt or shame.

They cannot break into wealthy people's homes so they steal from the poor instead
Of their very bad behaviour can anything good be said
They make those who steal from the wealthy few seem extraordinary brave
And if there is an afterlife from hell prayers them won't save.
