No Heroes, No Martyrs Poem by Hebert Logerie

No Heroes, No Martyrs

Honestly, we simply want to live in Peace
Stop the rants, the excuses, and stop the racists
In reality, we truly want to remain alive in one piece
Get rid of the guns, toss away the deadly weapons
We are too young to die, stay away from our sons
Protect our siblings, our parents and our friends
Speak the jargon of common sense, ignore the accents
Can't we see that we are one? We are all in pain
Stop, don't shoot. Do not pull the trigger
Enough is enough. Already, there are too many murders
Too many innocent victims, too many murderers
Too many lies and too many excuses. Focus on a larger
Picture. Put the pointer on respecting each other
On caring and ultimately loving each other
We need great men and women alive
We need each other not dead, but alive
No Heroes, No Martyrs, No zeroes
Let's think it over, stop and pause
We all lose when someone dies
Stop the violence, stop the lies
Honestly, we simply want to live in Peace
Frankly, we simply want to go in one piece
When God makes the call
Not when a few lunatics cause the fall.
