No End Poem by Robert Combs

No End

stay close
and listen to the fire in the sky
the world is spinning
faster as darkness
slowly crawls across
these pleasured lives

and I stepped into a hole
surrounded by my bareness
poured from a gilded boot
at her feet and
you touched me strong
fingertip of stifling confidence
I wept

there are people
who have lost and
those waiting to prevail
newly joined on an
ancient river folded
within streets of gold
hidden

shaken
forever holding true
anchored to the faithful
crimson Cherokee wind crisp
drenched and delicate tendriled
pushed across the cinder atmosphere
a rainstorm cluttered
with slumber

new mother
old friend paired
holding fast to another one

love that has no end
