Nightmares Begun Poem by Summer Huggins

Nightmares Begun

Staring in a clean, clear mirror
With a demon looking back at you
A mischievous frown from your face
A dying smile from your twin
The claws reach out for you

Paralyzed by your inner fear
Just blink one more time, it will all disappear
Paranoia airborne like a striking virus
Don't look back that's where it kills the most
Step in the trap and you're stuck forever
The hallucinations play a secret game
Awake while you sleep away

Blindfold into a room of choices
Breathing in the laughter I hear from you
Racing words hitting every nerve
Stuck in repeat till I get it right
Standing still as I watch myself move

Paralyzed by your inner fear
Just blink one more time, it will all disappear
Paranoia airborne like a striking virus
Don't look back that's where it kills the most
Step in the trap and you're stuck forever
The hallucinations play a secret game
Awake while you sleep away

Opening the door to nothing, it's full of surprises
Crawling on broken glass to the other side
DMT producing too much, it's an overload
Dying in a world, no one knew existed
Where did it go wrong?

Paralyzed by your inner fear
Just blink one more time, it will all disappear
Paranoia airborne like a striking virus
Don't look back that's where it kills the most
Step in the trap and you're stuck forever
The hallucinations play a secret game
Awake while you sleep away

Moving frozen in such a fast state
Over heating in a cold wonderland
Swimming high above life
Insanity, sanity clashing as the best enemy

Paralyzed by your inner fear
Just blink one more time, it will all disappear
Paranoia airborne like a striking virus
Don't look back that's where it kills the most
Step in the trap and you're stuck forever
The hallucination playing a secret game
Awake while you sleep away

the nightmares begun.
