Night Thoughts Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Night Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

The silence of night no longer induces sleep
Deep reverberating thoughts waken my brain
Through closed eyelids I am reliving the past
Random life experiences indelibly remain

Details fill the cabinet of my mind
Without provocation they appear…
Sounds and emotions are unlatched
Memories are vivid and crystal clear

Suddenly aware that I am here, not there
Realizing the past does not completely fade
Documented by joy and sadness year by year
Giving witness to a reminiscing parade

As I sort through and search for an explanation
I breathe a relaxed sensation of appreciation
