Night Shift Poem by Adeline Foster

Night Shift

Rating: 4.6

Here it is, it’s two o’clock;
I haven’t gone to bed
Because a jingle of a rhyme
Was jingling in my head.
It jingled long. It jingled short,
Until all night I could not sort
That jingle from my head.

'I cannot go to bed, ” I said,
“Until I have it right,
If I should try, I know it would
Keep jingling there all night.”
My little daughter came at last
To say, “No need for such a task,
For now it is daylight.”

This is delightful, Adeline. It has all the silliness of Spike Milligan or A A Milne. A tasty little morsel to have with coffee. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
