Night's Burden Poem by Jack Abdallah

Night's Burden

Rating: 3.5

It's night just as it always seems
Im lost just as I am in dreams
I feel what no one around sees
I fear my life as my heart flees
Its day just as I cannot sleep
Awake all night till daylight creep
The sun may rise I hear no peep
I step to walk my climb too steep
Instead I drop in daylight's peace
As if to wait for day to cease
Again the night to come with ease
Again the pain to take a piece
It's night again alone I plead
For night to end so day may lead
For I can't stand to weep and bleed
With restless eyes I wait in greed
For light to save my heart in need
