Night Poem by Timmi Omondi

Night

Staring down with an equal measure of awe,
Selene, that single silver eye,
The only witness, the only one who saw
The images I carefully drew across the sky.
My mind moved swift and slow to paint
Your face, your form, that beautiful sight,
Displaying a wish that never grew faint,
Giving new meaning to beautiful night.
Wishes and hopes, that rest in stars,
Like tears and joy which sometimes are far,
Like you and I, they always are.
