Night Poem by Jonny Brackney

Night

The riddle
has been solved
the night is at fault
the dark
is what brings the madness...

you must lay down
when the dark comes round
if you aim
to keep yourself
'sane'

the night brings evil
and carries the dark
that slays the day
ripping minds apart

the most honest fellow
will be shadowed, and pulled
down into the pits of
black...

crowds of demons; tortured spirits
flooding the streets,
walking halls
pouring evil down chimneys,
to crawl upon walls

so please beware...
be terribly scared.

the night has come
to stalk the dawn
to shield your eyes
of right and wrong

to blur your vision
to drive you
mad

to drag about
the strangest of thoughts
from the corners of your
subconscious

Haunting indeed! Great visuals as usual, but even more. dragging...thoughts is great. Shades of Dante. Scary! Loved it! S.
