New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve

It's a winter night
Above clear, cold moon
Shinning bright
Over landscape and mountain
And its beams
Falling upon surface and stream
Making it appear
Like a stream of light flowing on
And it's nearing the hour of midnight
Pushing the final petal of the hour to fall down
One last look upon thy countenance
Withered and sitting alone
To join the glory of ancestors
Well past and gone
Yet why I am sick of anything
That tends to come to ending
Bringing bitterness and cold
And goodbye is too painful indeed
I think I am getting attached
Attached to wealth and comforts
Attached to name and fame
Then what is the cure for this ailment?
Imbibe the true values of life
Share your wealth and your time
With those less fortunate
And remember everything given
By God is a loan
Even our very breath is no exception
A trust to be spent in the service of others
Saying so disappeared the last hour of the year
Giving passage to New Year
To usher in
New life, new joys and new aspirations
memories and hopes all woven into a robe of future to wrap our lives ahead this new year...........

Beautiful poem! The poet is at the intersecting point of the exiting year and the incoming new year!
