New Year Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

New Year

Bye bye old year;
Welcome New year
So goes the saying every year
But, what remains, adding and deducting years
Earth says, no math please my dear
For your convenience, it is plus-minus of numbers
Who is getting older, you or I, my dear
It is timelessness that matters
To which I belong from time immemorial
Standing as majestic as ever
So what, we are short-lived
Moment of happiness matters
Let us have fun in short span
When the New year is round the corner
Mother Earth, Mother Earth, be kind enough
When we celebrate New year in your lap
We are your children wishing to mend heart
Which is a priority in our resolution chart
Let good sense and sanity prevail
Let prosperity prosper everywhere
Let wounds and scars of earth be healed
With good thoughts, good deeds and good wishes
Let summer come with spring
Let winter come with spring
Let autumn come with spring
And all others come alone
Let there be no overflow in rivers
Let there be no tsunami in oceans
Let birds sing their natural songs
Let trees remain evergreen through the year
Let flowers stay in full bloom through summer and winter
Let there be no tremors felt in Earth's heart
Let sun stay cool
Let moon outshine sun
Let stars come alive........these are our wishes..........
