New Word: Darl, Darling, Berger, Mounter

On discovery that the monetary unit of Ecuador
is the French word for sugar.

From the German for valley,
and sounding sad,
it's hard to make a joke of our dollar,
like the Ecuadorians can of a sucre.

O the ineluctable sweetness of lucre.

Let's call a dollar a darl and a darling
and make it sound funny not sad,
and open up jokes about love.

O instead of dollar from valley,
let's call it berger from mount
and open up jokes of Above...

and mounter from berger
and O, jokes of vulgar account.
