New Mother

The Wind It Spoke As My Water Broke
Heaven Rushed To My Child, Pain Was Driving Me Wild
Two Long Hours I Panted Through, First Your Head, Then Shoulders Flew Through
Silence……….
I Was Driven Back By Despair, By Your Sudden Gasp Of Air
Golden Joy In My Arms That Once Felt So Bare
Sealed His Head With A Kiss And A Promise To Always Be There
The Light In Your Eyes Made The World Make Sense, As Your Wings Were Cut
By Golden Scissors Angels Sent
They Took You Away, Crying And Bundled In Blue
I Drifted Off Dreaming Of You
When I Awoke I Found It All To Be True
I Prayed For A Miracle And I Finally Got You
My Heart Got What It Wanted At Last.

Poem of the Day

poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
