New Horizons Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

New Horizons

Rating: 5.0

Man's mission to Pluto
Opens new horizons
Of scientific progress
A result of human endeavor.

A piano sized spacecraft
Covered ten years of time
And billions miles of space
To provide new insight.

Covering per hour over
Thirty thousand miles
It got close to Pluto at
The edge of the solar system.

Man can control the craft
Where signal at light's speed
Takes over four hours to reach it
And and equal amount to get back.

Man is now able to see
Objects light years away
Future holds great promise
To reach even farther with ease.

New Horizons has opened
A window into outer space
We on earth with humility
Must look for peace everywhere.

Man has made amazing strides in technology and space exploration! Yet the premonition of something dark looms large! in the midst of all advancements, the threat of war and the consequent destruction blur our excitement! A great write. A 10

Admiring the advancement of technology. Yet a feeling of insecurity on its adverse effect on humanity. A mixture of emotions nicely captured on a thin thread Thanks for sharing
