New Gibraltar Complex

The Spaniard laughs off his Gibraltar-Complex
as there's nothing much there,
and nothing beyond but the sea.

The Columbian, the New Spaniard,
sees Panama as New Gibraltar.

He can't laugh off his complex:
there's nothing much in New Gibraltar,
but Querida! Look at the land beyond!
