New Eyes Poem by Dominique Brown

New Eyes

There was a peach tree
in my yard
as a child
i loved the tree with all
of my eyes
in was pure
to me
it provided for me
sweetness
but with age comes
new dangers

I started to view my
Peach Tree
Differently
The peaches rotted
Just as Soon as
They ripened
But a funny thing happened
I was sitting by
My peach tree
When a little boy
Came up
He smiled at me
He picked a rotten peach
Off the tree
And he told me it was
sweet.
