Love is precious, love is pure
It's one thing we all want for sure
Love is gained and love is lost
Love can come at such a cost
Some just aren't willing to pay
And when times get tough they run way
I've had heartaches and sleepness nights
I've been let go and I've been held tight
Those I cherished and held close
Are the very ones who hurt me most
Sadly I've hurt others too
And for that I have paid my dues
Through it all never giving up on love
The most precious gift from above
For love even Christ suffered pain
Think of all that we have gained
