Never Being Appreciated Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Never Being Appreciated

Recognizing the reality of our time here being so
temporary, not letting us get used to our lives
too well before taking them away from us.

Death attuned totally to our spirits, waiting for
the exact moment to grasp our breath and take it
away from us.

Never being fully appreciated by anyone on earth,
as all our fickle and essential self-centered.

Living, dying, never able to attain anything in our
lifetimes, at least not permanently.

Even those who achieve riches and fame cannot take it
with them when they leave this earth.
