Nemesis Poem by Doris Cornago

Nemesis

You came on like the rush of wind

Making my lungs explode, or glare of sun

Too blinding, so awesome to behold

Should I hide from you or wildly run

When I know nothing can be as glorious

Than to be notorious caught in your arms...

I am day and you are the darkest night

Coming together should there be an eclipse

Should we clash asunder or should we cleave

I have seen your talons displayed in splendor

You are a beast to be sure but I am Nemesis

Make one false move, cut your head I surely would...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This man comes on too strong, taunting me with his adulation. I know that he is merely playing a game of hide-and-seek. I want to duel him with a war of words, but he conveniently stalks me from afar. So, my dear headless chicken, this poem is for you.
