Neither God Nor Angels Poem by Lora Colon

Neither God Nor Angels

Your expressions of love are now silenced,
My days are cloaked in a somber hue,
Neither God nor angels could extinguish
This agony of longing for you

The sun no longer illumines my path,
From Heaven's face darkened shadows roll,
Neither God nor angels could summon forth
The sunshine your love brought to my soul

Your hand no longer reaches out to me
To guide each faltering step I take,
Neither God nor angels could steady me
When the ground beneath begins to quake

Your poems of love were like sonatas
That no majestic choir could repeat,
Neither God nor angels in unison
Could sing me a love song half so sweet

My heart no longer knows the thrill of love,
Just memories scar these darkened walls,
Neither God nor angels could stir my heart
Should they forsake their celestial halls

Neither God nor angels can ease my pain,
There is no comfort wherein I dwell,
No, nothing can make me forget your love,
Not God, not angels, not heaven, not hell

Dark, and weighty, like the sorrow that engulfs a broken heart. So remarkably detailed, so painfully contemplated. The deep agony of a heart bereft. Such pain is blind and cannot even conceive the reality that even hearts can heal in time, but that is a story for another time. Deeply moving. Thank you.

This agony of longing for you............. add i have in front of for you? ? :) what good are God and angels anyway? ? ? i suppose i'll be punished for saying that. a SECOND lifetime to spend in Hell after i die! Reenter If life just seems filled up with doom, perhaps you should...reenter the womb. What's nine months more, more or less? But I've never tried it, I must now confess. WELL, there WAS that one womb** i explored, and, when her husband caught me, i was floored. Meanwhile, his wife slept right through it; she snored! I guess i wasn't too exciting for her....and she was BORED. bri :) ** you KNOW what i mean. right?
