Necesity Poem by Sandra Feldman

Necesity

A poet is nothing,
Without a reader,
They navigate together,
Thru the sea of sensitivity,
And poetic imagery.

SENSITIVITY AND IMAGERY - I want to highlight those two words which show what every poet should incorporate in her/his poems. A poem properly moves through images, not ideas, not raw feelings. And sensitivity is the virtue every poet should develop in themselves. Another word for it is empathy or compassion. The sheer NECESSITY for both a poet and a reader is fulfilled here at PH, because we are always both writers and readers. Your poem is a capsule statement of the essence of poetry.
