Nature's Pests (2009) Poem by David Joel Rodriguez

Nature's Pests (2009)

Rating: 3.5

Couldn't remember such thoughts
Those damn birds kept whistling
Singing sound of loves beginning end
Newborn faces seemed to be caught

How annoying of the whining wind
Trees waving, swaying, clapping
Bubble thoughts in a daydream
What else will damn birds bring

An innocent tender smile shines
Eyes gleaming for someone else
Imagining strangers wedding bells
Knowing you are not really mine

Damn those feathered pests
Mending broken chambers
Healing yet still remember
Rain your warmth as I rest

They can't be washed away
They can't be sung away
They can't be blown away
and they will not fly away
