Nature Eden Poem by Paul Larmour

loooking out in deep despair
a little robin hopped my way
and as i was sittnig there
the little robin began to say
'i know a place thats green and free
flowers bloom and tumbling waters wink
where birds and wild honey bees
bathe themselves and have a drink'
i looked at him and he at me
and i seen the truth in his eye
i said to him'come lets see'
and grabbed his wing and away did fly
over lands of fields and farms
and mistsy mountain glens
then with falling aching arms
we came to the journeys end
it was a majestical place
with the greenest green you ever seen
and flowers of such beauty and grace
encircled by a laughing stream
a willow weeped and wilted in the sun
daffodils trumpted and bluebells rang
rockroses opened one by one
and angel throated thrushes sang
a summer zepher tossed my hair
the silky grass caressed my toes
and i was no longer in deep despair
where the mind in darkness goes
but on a caribbean shore of turquiose and gold
with swaying palms and smiling seas
and many birds coloured bright and bold
and pirates laughter on the breeze
or on a grassy alpine peak
where milking cows graze in tune
hoverflies dance and sneak
and swallows dip and swoon
where edelweiss glares virgin white
square chalets glow geranium red
the sweetest air so free and light
goes like red wine to my head
or in a dew dressed forest glade
with thorny thistles and frothy ferns
sitting in the dappled shade
where the fiery pieris flames and burns
and watch the butterflies ebb and flow
around the buttercups and tall green grass
weaving a wondrous waltz as they go
while dog daisies bow and applaud as they pass
these natural edens can be found
without a moment, by standing still
theyre in your head as on the ground
so close your eyes and think your fill
depression is a state of mind
your mind can take you anywhere
so close your eyes and you will find
your natural eden from despair
