Nature Defiled Poem by RAJ NANDY

Nature Defiled

NATURE DEFILED

Eden is left behind,
Lying wrecked and plundered,
With its water and sky defiled!
While a mute cactus with its accusing
fingers,
In solitary protest, amidst the arid desert
sands, - stands!

Forsaken, Eden now hangs,
Caged in a decorative pot,
From a fifth floor balcony of a society flat -
opposite mine;
Doomed to the gallows, by the verdict
of mankind!
