Natural Disaster Poem by Philip St. Cyr

Natural Disaster

Natural Disaster

I take center stage as the climate brings out my rage
they will feel the cinders of raging fury
though they run they will not escape;
the ground will shiver, the earth will quake
Wrath boils inside as dormant volcano sudden awakened;
They will stare into the eyes of rage and know what it truly means to be afraid
and cry for mercy, but none will come for them
as one by one they look up to skies and then meet their demise
I rain lightning and I hit with the waves of a hurricane
there is no shelter from this storm, no refuge
By day I am booming and thrashing, by night I am a silent assassin
I take by force, with no regard and no remorse,
wound, kill, and destroy every man, woman, girl and boy
Anything that is in my path is a casualty, just a taste of hell's fury
Sometimes as a tornado, they can see me approaching,
where I'll strike next there are few ways of knowing
