Nate Bryant (In Memorial) Poem by Luke Easter

Nate Bryant (In Memorial)

Time is an element no man can control,
Sooner or later we will have a day to go,
February 27,2010 wasn’t all that grate,
A good friend to many, good bye Nate.

A pillar of the community? Well, not quite,
But a friend to masses? Surely, that’s right,
The multitude being everyone Nate knew,
A smile for me and a hand shake for you.

His sincere joyfulness walking in the mall,
And a jolly good time playing racquetball,
If there was an unkind word he didn’t say,
Equal opportunity kindness went every way.

A fixture like a statute in a community park,
If you were not in the mood he would start,
Tell me something good, what’s going on,
Bam! Now the conversation going’s strong.

Always a good word with positive insight,
No matter who was wrong, who was right,
You’d never hear a negative or a complaint,
It’s not going to start now. Thank you Nate.

The club we called home has long been closed,
Thankfully loving memories still forever flow,
And as waters of the oceans run wide and deep,
May the bible be true; you’ve only fallen asleep.

Lord bypass the wrong, go straight to the right,
Add the name Nate Bryant to the Book of Life,
How many have ever walked in a perfect path?
Father in Your mercy, just remember his laugh.
