My Worrier Queen Poem by Steve Ricketts

My Worrier Queen

Rating: 5.0

For years we grew together, we hardly were apart. It was your only wish, to have some one own your heart. Never was your wish, to dressed in all the finest clothes, diamonds were not wanted. All you ever wanted, was to have a loving home. The love you gave unselfish, was pure as any known, a lucky man was I, for I was the man you choose. Never could I have known, a love so pure as finest gold. You gave of yourself fully, you never held it back, all you ever wanted, was to be loved right back.

The battles you have fought, you fought them on your own. The courage that you show, when facing every single foe, a strength like no other and all you ever ask, was not to stand alone. I tried to be there with you, to see you go to war, but every little challenge hurt you more and more, I know you cried more often, then you wanted me to know, but my darling sweetheart, that's when you were alone. You were so very brave, as you rode down to this fight and you fought with all your might. It was your last big battle, one you knew you could not win, but still my darling sweetheart, you still fought to try to win.

Now you are resting, no more wars are there for you, you truly are my hero, no one compares to you, no one braver have I known. You set up your mantle high, like other set their thrones. On high you should be seated, for you earn the right to be, honoured by your children not just only me. A love like yours I know, I'll never find again, for I was truly lucky, to have you loving me. Now I'm old and wiser, is to late for me I know, it's all that I can ask for, is for us to meet again.
