My Wish Poem by Eugene W. Miller

My Wish

I wish I were a Poet
I sure would love to be
Then I could put on paper
These thoughts inside of me,
But I am just a Lyricist
A song writer I'll always be
'Cause you have to be a dreamer
To write just Poetry
But when I write my hit song
Then famous I will be
They'll put my name up in lights
For all the world to see
While I'm accepting my awards
And feeling ten feet tall
I'll know I'm not a dreamer
But a Poet after all.
