My Wish Poem by Walterrean Salley

My Wish

Dear Mom
If I could have one wish
Here’s what it would be
I’d wish that every mom was like
The one God gave to me.
And because you’re wonderful—
So kind in every way,
I’d wish the sun would never set
Upon your Mother’s Day.
And if God would allow,
I’d wish even more
With only the best wishes
For a mom whom I adore.
To one who is so beautiful
Loving and most clever
I wish that you could be my mom
Forever and ever.
