My Way To Nirvana Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

My Way To Nirvana

I pay my obeisance to God almighty
whose one command ‘Be’
brought the universe into being

Who sent prophets and seers
to guide humanity drowned in mire of ignorance
falsehood and illusion
with light of love and compassion

I hail ‘the reed flute’
through which flows the divine breath
that gives life to every thing

I Join the whirling dervishes
tuned to musical movements
in their circular, anticlockwise, procession

Spiral three times around the turning space
each with a distinct rhythm
representing the three stages of knowledge
testifying to God's existence, unity, majesty and power

My way to nirvana
not uncontrolled ecstasy and loss of consciousness
but complete submission in the realization of God

The rapture of dissolving into Love
the sacrifice of the mind and beingto Love
the annihilation of self in Love

Love is my religion
service my worship
self-discipline my way to perfection
deserting the ego or false self my liberation.
