My Way Is Light Poem by Simon Chamoun

My Way Is Light

It had been a pretty long joyride
an eternal rollercoaster ride in the Luna park
With all its ups and downs, day and night
a high and lit path till you reach the mark
A drop to a bottomless hell where light escapes
everything around you dunked in the dark
You have to find your internal shining lighthouse
you have to be your own and only spark

The universe is generous and always gives
the only thing you have to do is ask
Put your ego aside and define who you are
though it has never been an easy task
But the outcome is worthy and so are you
in your own magnificence you will bask
Once you have found you there is no return
you will be the one tearing your own mask

Once you look in your mirror and see truth
no person will reflect, an idea will, a beam
A pillar of conscience, a conscious being
a spring of love, slowly becoming a stream
You will be able to shout out love
divine words and actions you will scream
In contrary to your perception of reality
you will actually wake up from the dream

It never stops there, understanding begins
the joy of giving becomes the law of life
You become life itself in its finest forms
an utter perception of love, a song of a fife
An eternity of energy, a melody of acceptance
a model of adoration, widespread and rife
A beacon to you surrounding your being
living the now in love rather than a strife
