My Way Poem by Pete Rivera

My Way

In the park
By myself
I can smell
The sweet caramel
By your window

And a flash of light
Brought me down
To my senses
I saw you by the tunnel
I did
So I said this:

Now everytime
I feel so confined
I look at you now
And I say why?
Were we never real?
How did you feel?
Was it ever true?
And no matter what they say
Things never seem
To turn out my way

Coal by the fire
So hot, burning lots
Wish you were here
Though...
It's my curse
That I'm missing you
My curse
That I'm not kissing you
By that fire

And I say why?
Were we never real?
How did you feel?
Bet it wasn't the same as me

Was it ever true?
Cannot believe you
Can't say the truth hurts
If I've never been told it so

And no matter what they say
Things never seem
To turn out my way
No..

In the car
Smell of gas
Windows begin to fog
In stormy rain
Here I am
There I was
Lost like a puppy
Till that lady came

The sweet perfection of Apsara
So beautiful I cannot bear it
Like the love she slipped into me
Gave me wings to set me free
Phoenix down and I'm alive
Magic potion and we're in love

Everytime...
I feel so confined
I look at you now
And think to myself
Why?
Were we never real?
How did you feel?
Was it ever true?
And no matter what
Doesn't matter what you
Or what anyone else may say
Things never have
And never will
Turn out my way
