My Warm Day Poem by Reginald Goodridge

My Warm Day

And what a good day it was
I exercised my brain and will
sat in that office being firm
sitting still

Wrote them documents
compliments to administration
etching out real meanings
divisive creations

And home for a nap
yes, I still take them
slumbering until awaken
my faith in a poet unshaken

so there I was
mumbling away life
listening to music
pondering my future wife

back to sleep
I float and succumb
reviewing a good, solid day
feeling warm, no longer numb
